How many people can say they love their job? I do and it shows.

My passion for the job coupled with being approachable, knowledgeable, and helpful enables me to work inside other peoples business and to make them more successful.

I work with multiple organisations providing hands on,on-site finance support either by personally acting as Finance Director or by providing members of my team to assist in other finance roles. Sharing the experiences not just of my profession but also from pragmatic experience of running many businesses myself.

My business has grown since I joined in 2004 to include a network of like minded finance professionals and an interim finance staff arm that delivers in company financial control without the overhead of employment. Our goal is to become the default market leading provider of choice for pay-as-you go financial management services.

When I am not working, I am yearning to get out on the bike or escape back to a relaxing break in the Mediterranean.

Malcolm goes out of his way to really get to know and understand the business so it’s not just numbers – hecan and has offered proactive advice. Working with EFM has benefited our business immeasurably. I wouldn’t classify myself as being a numbers person. I’m proficient and I understand numbers but to me it’s a sanity check every month which is great. It gives me confidence, and gives my board confidence, that the numbers are correct. I’ve used freelancers in the past and EFM compare really well.”

Case Study

SAAS Business

A venture capital investor had committed seed and first round funding to a SAAS company without a finance director.

The VC’s investment was contingent on an FD being appointed, while the Managing Director was oblivious to the benefits an FD could bring to his business and resistant to what he considered would be outside interference.

I was approached to work with the MD for an initial trial period of three months, delivering one half day each month, and ongoing email and phone support.
