The Client- Meteor Communications 

Meteor Communications, based in St. Albans, is a UK leader in continuous water quality monitoring systems. The company has earned this reputation through providing reliable and robust real time Water Quality monitoring systems, remote asset monitoring and MeteorCloud® web services. It is currently in a high growth phase, with turnover and staff levels rising at more than 20% per annum for the past 5 years.

It was recognised that the business required a greater depth of financial information and insights as it continues to rapidly scale up.


Why Financial Clarity was needed

Despite meeting all its compliance obligations, Meteor’s finance function was mostly reactive. Key processes such as billing, payment tracking, and cash flow management were manual, fragmented, and disconnected from one another.

Rob worked closely with the existing accounts administrator to redefine roles and expectations, introduce clearer monthly tasks and reporting routines and ensure timely financial inputs.

Rob revised ledger processes to handle multi-currency supplier payments and net them off against outstanding invoices. He also implemented revised year-end adjustment protocols to set up a clear financial baseline moving forward.
